Talkback: What's nibbling my Lilies?
live in Weston Super Mare and I have noticed this year that my lillies in pots are covered in this red 'bug' lady bird type, but all red with black head/legs - black type slimmy stuff on the leaves that are appearing to eat... any suggestions in how by Sara Miller

birds (crows, jackdaws,magpies) taking the bread? Ours works very well for dogs too! You can get the cages from the RSPB and Pets at Home. Please has anyone got ideas our three dogs sometimes wee in the garden they have their own patch to go in between by Tilly Lover

backwards in their efforts to get a bit more nesting material. No, I don't like those grasses either, but they seem to be very useful to the birds. After recently moving to a new property with a run down garden which was full of forsythias I can sympathise by The Garden Monkey

? You probably could find a pesticide to kill the beetles, but it would also kill the ladybirds, bees, hoverflies and all other beneficial insects in your garden, not to mention the odd hedgehog or two. And then of course the birds and the bats would by budding entomologist

wonder if wasps also eat the blackfly as our beans are clean this year but we have 2 wasp nests one in a concrete bird box & one in an old dovecote. If I am to continue growing Vegs I must get a way of controlling SLUGS. Would it help if I grew a lot by hereisabee

birds to start with - the grandchildren want to do their bit too! We have five Black Rock hens free ranging around our garden and they are not only a joy to watch but they are pets that produce too if you see what I mean. They're so friendly they'd come by Gail

what we'll do the length of the garden this year if we can't walk on the lawn thats left one long upraised path down the garden to my greenhouse would be great, the frogs,birds and hedgehogs would love it my other half was'nt to happy about the idea by Pippa Greenwood

container which at the begining of the year had about 15 small figs on it. They all dissapeared and I am left with 3. I couldn't see any signs of them dropping off so are there any birds that might be stealing them? Also does anybody know if you should prune by Jane Moore
