Talkback: Collecting fallen leaves
left some small ones on for the birds, and then when they are eaten I can cut up some of the stored ones. Blackbirds, fieldfares, thrushes and maybe the odd redwing love them. I've often thought of collecting leaves from the road side as we get huge by James Bond

Talkback: Adopting hens
! That is wonderful! I'm thinking to do the same. Congratulations. There is something almost magical about adopting hens from batteries. We collected 6 poor, nude & frightened birds from a farmer thereby saving them from an early death. When we got them home we put by Brownbunny

Talkback: Wet weather and wildlife
, and as we're not too troubled by slug and snail damage (so far - fingers crossed) I presume they're responsible for helping us out with these. We get lots of birds in the garden - goldfinches, greenfinches, dunnocks, various tits, robins, chaffinches by oldchippy

Looking for evergreen climber
Corollina...Coral plant ...evergren climber... I have just bought a Pyracantha, it will eventually grow to 4mts (so the bag says!) but it is evergreen, has flowers in the summer and red berries in the Autumn that the birds love. They grow in any type of soil by Hapsen

All year round Wall basket - drought resistant!
people do this after flowering, but I do so in spring, so the birds can eat the seedheads in autumn and winter), and you'll need to repot the plants every year or two, when they get rootbound. Lavender alone has attractive foliage, and of course lovely by NJJ272

hi all, got some bugs i'm stuck with.
. Also encourage more birds, frogs and toads into your garden, which prey on millipedes. pansy2's idea of keeping chickens for a couple of years is a great idea, and before planting you could dig the area thoroughly and rermove any you find.Good luck by me
