Broad beans again
them out asap then, they're looking healthy so far My bean seeds seem to just disappear and this is the second year in very different weather conditions that only a few seem to grow out of the many that I plant. Is it mice or birds? Any ideas please? I by blueberry77

shrub suggestions
a long list of shrubs to add, but thought I'd ask if there is one particular one that I should have. I want to attract birds, bees and bufferflies. I want to keep it  fairly low1-1.5m. Many thanks, Bill I would go for lavenders, easy maintenance by Bill Mansfield

Planting to disguise very large fence
?   Don't make the mistake of narrow borders. It will just make you feel more enclosed, go for dramatic effect, bold planting. There is loads about on how to design a small enclosed garden. But yes cover your fence with climbers , but also shrubs for birds by Nat4

problem with rats
birds bread on grass previously . tinaallan, if you know farmers you will know where they get there supplies from.  You can shop there even if you are not a farmer.  I'm sure they will sell poison where you buy chicken food.  You can buy poison in 'throw by tinaallan

visits. Chaenomeles is covered in flowers. The birds are returning and some have found mates already. I have peach blossom on my peach tree. The blossom is just arriving on the wild cherry trees in my spinney. And oh, the hellebores!!! There, James by happymarion

is re-cyling your green bin ,a good thing?
sad as we all see birds digging in the grass for worms and insect larvea.. Perhaps this is the reason that some species are declining.  Hedgehogs are also down in numbers and I wonder if this is partly caused by slug pellets. Education! Education by flowering rose

the birds wouldn't take the seeds.) I'vejust had a look, but after twelve days nothing is happening. The potting soilis quite damp, but I'm a bit worried about over watering. How often do you thinkthey will need watering? I'm using a small watering can by Bookwormy

't do the nectar but some of them have those lovely fluffy seed heads that stay all winter and are useful nesting material for birds. OMG Lead Farmer, your garden is so beautiful.........I am indeed happy to have found GW Forum. There are some stunning by creeps
