Back garden Chickens

Protecting container plants in Winter
Hi, I've done a few new pots this year. Can you let me know which ones need what protection over winter? I've got bubble wrap and fleece on standby and if I get round to clearing the bramble out of the greenhouse I could use that too (although by Supernoodle

Gardening For Wildlife
, common redstart, firecrest (Not Goldcrest) and brambling. Starling and house sparrows nesting in the roof this summer. The plant list can be endless but this link might be helpful.  Just to add that butterflies and bees have a preference for blue coloured by Mark Feather

Rip it up and start again....
with solid ground underneath - grass won't survive directly underneath the swing, so bark chippings look neater. I will be using the weed membrane/bark chips option later this year, when I've cleared the top part of my new garden of brambles, bindweed by Rebecca Longson

Very large garden - where to start
but the nettles and brambles are being replaced by scrubby grass. we took all the old carpets out of the house and covered what we could with them. It's very untidy but better than chest high nettles. I feel I can start to do something with it now. I've never done by Blueboots

Lupin Seeds
of the lupin that I have 15 more patio planters this year than last year (5 of them over 120Litres)  Thanks, nutcutlet. I've tried lupins before but OH weeded the garden one autumn and got out a lot of large 'weeds'!!!! This included the lupins, a 'bramble by Gardening Granny

What has happened???
for advertising for my business and it has been great for that. My garden is looking great. All the brambles and nettles are dug out, retaining wall will be built in a couple of weeks...a couple more wee jobs to do regarding hard landscaping and we are a GO by Sam Glendinning

used to think it just wasn't worth it. Little and often. We took over our large plot 2.5 years ago. It was full of brambles, nettles, bindweed & dock. But gradually by digging just a bed at a time - double digging to get rid of all the weed problems we by Pat
