breeding parrots.oh well i do get a few Adam, I think you're too fond of the wild birds to keep them away! Couldn't you try micromesh? They couldn't get tangled in it, and you could leave some fruit on the bird table. Let us know what happens next year. by Grannyanne

. There are plenty of butterflies about, all they need is to be able to colonize gardens which are much less intensively manicured.Captive breeding of butterflies from caterpillars can be very interesting and children especially will benefit from seeing the larvae by Anonymous

- my great tits only ever come during breeding season. I don't see them in summer and very rarely in winter. I assume there is enough food for them at other times of the year so they don't need to come in to my garden. But it's perfectly normal to have by oldchippy

Mystery 'Tree'
and now I do! It's a lovely little tree, I'm very fond of it.  This year I shall take very careful note to see if there is any sign of fruits on it - maybe the blackbirds ( we have many resident nesting/breeding pairs ) are getting to it before I even by BrendaScott53

Are Hostas really for shade?
primulas, astillbe etc i have some in the shade and they are very happy and some in tubs in full sun all day..they are the same breed and are also very happy..thou water everyday... the ones in the sun have more flowers than those in the shade by Beverley Jones
