Murky water in Pond
. They breed quite quickly but they'll take a bit of time to conquer it - perhaps a few weeks. The more you add, the faster they'll tackle the murk. As with most wildlife gardening, it's the base of your trophic pyramid that's the most vital. Watercress is also by LizzyT2

What doe Hybrid F1 mean on a seed packet
and matures earlier then yes-there are still plenty of non-F1 seeds about-the 99p shop were selling seeds at 25p per packet so there is still plenty of choice Taste is a personal thing-it doesn't necessarily mean that the the "true breeds"taste any better by Sam Glendinning

Those b....y muntjac again
, but they didn't eat hellebores here. The roses were massacred in 2011, so was the veg garden. Looks like it would be good in a sandwich! Bet you wish it was. So far not a major problem here. Fencing for deer won't be an option so I hope they're not breeding by nutcutlet

Little Treasures
on the information to other forum users. There must be many such places, little treasures where enthusiastic growers are selling and/or breeding unusual and special plants. I wondered whether forum members would like to share information about these places. Touchwood by Gardening Grandma

Birds trying to nest in my potting shed
'm just a meanie...don't tell the RSPB on me  Very often they nest in cow sheds and such where there is lots of coming and going, I don't think it bothers them too much. If they are breeding now, let them get it over with and try and cover the hole later by Ali Newbie Gardener

Talkback: Stag beetles
suitable undisturbed breeding places. Reply to FriedaI think you may be labouring under a misapprehension. Just as young butterflies are caterpillars, young stag beetles are grubs (or maggots or larvae depending on our vernacular choice). They do vary by fruit trees

Talkback: Robins
for it to be serious. Not doubt this acceptance of each other will disappear when breeding time approaches! It is snowing today where I live, (N.E.Scotland) so the garden has been full of hungry birds all day, and all types, even had the greater spotted woodpecker by kathryn.brock

Growing Pumpkins Vertically
was a hybrid or heirloom variety. If heirloom, a pure variety, the seed should produce true to type if there was no cross-pollination. If a hybrid, the result of deliberate cross-breeding between varieties, it should produce pumpkins, but not identical by Oodie

Talkback: Sparrowhawk overhead
is not pretty, it is a beautiful bird. Mike - according to the RSPB website, the current estimate for sparrowhawk numbers is 41,100 breeding pairs and their numbers are directly regulated by the number of prey birds, not the other way round [unless man by Lone ranger
