Ants in a Herb Garden
We have a Community Herb Garden in which we grow Thyme. Unfortunately Ants are building nests under the spreading thyme and destroying them. What can we do?     Ants love dry ground, is there any way that you can make it damper to deter them?  I had by marigold3

Basics first
Hi all. Just got a new build house. Nothing in garden apart from a heap of top soil probably covering up a lot of rubble. Wanting to lay a new lawn, would I be best to dig up and level out or can I lay a lawn straight on top of soil.? I reckon I ve by Mel1873

Rockery plan
Heres the plan put some soil on the grass then build the rocks around in the pattern i want, then fill in with soil  and then pile some more rocks on top and then more soil and then more rocks. or Should i put something on the grass first like bin by pash2

Problem Swallow nests
detrimental impact on thir survival? We have put out trays of mud, cotton buds and fibrous material tofacilitate nest building but we are very worried about the impact we are having. Any thoughts anyone? Looks like they are protected by law. http://www.rspb by Ziminuk

Angry Birds
 jumping on the netting (as if it's a trampoline) to push it down the bamboo cane so that they can get to the spoils.  No one believes me that it is birds spoiling my salad not snails and slugs.  I think next year I have to build a proper netted frame over each bed. It by lesinnl
