is up to you, I love them and so do insects. The bugloss is covered in bees and butterflies when in flower. Then the seeds get eaten by the finches. They're both biennial so if you like them let them seed. by Rushie

they will have a good chance to settle in while the soil is still warm. Youu can cut them back a bit now and then hard back in the spring. thanks for your advice daitiness, i love them for the amount of butterflies they have attracted, but they look a bit too by lynne24

Does anyone recognise this
 which featured topless shepherd girls on page three. It may be Allium paradoxum.  I'll post a picture I took yesterday in my Butterfly Garden.   Thank you both, I think Marion is right. I've just been out in the dark rubbing the leaves to see if they smell allium by nutcutlet

on this excellent article is what do you mean by"the end of each season". I have asked already in 2 places at what stage it is best to cut the nettles down to avoid sacrificing butterflies and ladybirds.I let a big patch grow in my garden but the "gardener" I paid by spidea

down were on a bit of a hill in a field ,really WINDY here in Tenby no snow  tho   themommoment  tho,     alan4711 Alan - looks like a chrysalis of some form to me  - It might a butterfly or a pretty moth. I could possibly be wrong though but I wouldn by Alan4711

you a link to lots of photos but for some reason the system is malfunctioning.  Just Google Noctuid Moth Images and you should get some good pictures. A Chrysalis of some sort, but I wouldn't know if it is a butterfly or moth.   I often come across by Des4545
