Sad flowering cherry
I have a beautiful weeping flowering cherry tree in my garden which I think may have a canker disease.  There are totally dead branches and branches with a cluster of leaves on the very ends but none along the length.  There are also eruptions by Mary6

Climbing Rose - markings on stem
or council bin.  I agree. It has been very wet. There is something called stem canker which is more serious, but it doesn't look like that to me. Canker looks a bit like a wart and is wrinkly and can spread to encircle the stem. Black spot can appear by tony williams2

My cherry tree has red lumps on them
it may be a form of canker. Advise reads "cut it out, paint on an anti canker paint, and put something around the lower` trunk every winter2, but can't remember what. Sorry. Me I am just going to cut down, clear bark from under the tree, and totally redo by justin stefanyszyn

dying cherry trees
're waterlogged. Oozing sap makes me think of canker, which seems to be thriving this year - have a look here to see if the symptoms look familiar. I came onto the forum because my tree is looking very sorry for itself.  Lovely big tree, great blossom, but now by dipan

Care & maintenance of elderly Bramley apple trees.
cankerous growth.  Here's the RHS advice on renovative pruning: http://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?pid=279 If there isn't any dead wood, I'd be extremely tempted to do nothing.  One other idea might be to plant a new tree of another by jo4eyes
