Talkback: Moles revisited
inserted in the runs. The moles are far less of a problem when the lawns are being regularly mown as they don't like the vibration of the mower! perhaps you need a cat, my son had a mole in his garden, and his cat lay in wait, after two days he finally got by lynar

Pot bound Acer Dissectum 'Viridis'
& goldfinches love it. My 2 cats both pretend to be stuck up it as well, just so I can 'rescue' them...bit silly really as the bigger cat is so big all she has to do is drop her back legs and she's on the top of the pot! I might wait til the autumn, as the soil by lilwead

Liming the soil
of the following would be the best to use and what the differences are between them: 1) dolomite magnesium lime 2) hydrated lime 3) ground limestone 4) calcified seaweed   Thanks, Cat Hi Cat, i can only comment on the seaweed part,being near to the sea almost all by Catattak

've heard the smell of flowering currant described as 'like cat pee', but I like the smell of flowering currant, and I certainly don't like the smell of cat pee by Gardengirl..

tea bags
just under the surface of the soil - a great deterrent if you have cats using your borders as a loo! That should be Ralgex spray! Open tea bags and use as a mulch for ericaceous plants No I am sure tea bags do not attract ants they dont attract ants by red john

in my garden we have lots of little sparrows. I feed them all year round as they are my favourite bird in the garden. Unfortunately a sparrow hawk has noticed this and the numbers have dramatically fallen, also we have ferral cats which are not helping by Paul Narramore

rabbits
't allowed access on to the land  - and when they did start ferretting again they caught 406 rabbits, over six visits, within 200 yards of my house. Until two years ago I had semi-feral cats which certainly kept the front garden totally rabbit-free.   I never by Jack by the hedge

I would be bowled over at the sight of a sparrowhawk in the garden!! Was honoured by visits from a kestrel in the past.Now am lucky to see birds at all due to the increase in domestic cats and am concerned that the bird feeders are luring them by Jacey26
