Birds.
as though ground feeding birds might use it. There are several other designs on Amazon. You can see them in the 'Customers who viewed this item also viewed' sections on those pages. I'd love to have one of those, but I think our cats would go completely nuts by cowslip2

Vistors had a party yesterday
cat!    I had goldfinches,great tits,blue tits,wren ,robin and the returning blackbirds all rummaging around the garden for nest material until the bigger birds came down,good to keep them on their toes. by scotkat

years I havent been able to put up bird boxes due to a cat who was a bit of a hunter. I now only have an old cat with no teeth (and who is unable to jump) so I may look into bird boxes this year. We put up a nest box early in 2010, but had no takers by oldchippy

Flippin' pigeons
.. they seem to keep even the rooks and cats away. Might sound odd but have you considered tying in another (empty) basket on top of your planted ones to form a sort of ball? Your plants will grow through and cover the top one, keep the pigeons off and maybe by Bookertoo

the pellets that don't hurt cats etc as my cat died that way and they also effect the fertility of songbirds. Is there anything that ACTUALLY works? I'm desperate!!!!! salt/sand mix certainly deterred slugs and has given my dahlias and lupins a fighting chance by ginjosie
