I have been inundated with chick weed brought in in bags of bought compost, I know this as being right as I used to tend my Aunties window box with the same make soil and the window box in no time was smothered in chick weed. Chickweed is edible. I by kilwinningjim

How do you control/eliminate chickweed but without chemicals in a vegetable plot. I seem to get rid of it every year and lo and behold it comes back!!! The problem is that it will be seeding, so for best results you need to remove it before by Christopher Dennison

the magnifying glass. @dave warner.. check out the problem solving on home page.. it has weed sin it.. and it does look like yours is chickweed.. sorry i was not looking at picture properly. The square stems are very distinctive, so it's not stitchwort by Dave Warner

and groundsel and chickweed and grass growing where I don't want it.  Sorry Joe didn't mean to sound pompous, I was just pointing out that scientific names can be useful. This is also known as Pussy Willow, which is what I know it as.  Rubur was a typo btw by Jimmar

Raised asparagus bed
as a mulch killing alot of the seeds etc of the original plot which was a lawn.  I only seem to get a bit of chickweed and the odd dandelion seedling and these are easy to pull if I get them when they're young. My biggest concern is how deeply can I get by gerrya

into the green waste skips, like some of the perenial weeds and I have had my garden badly infected with chickweed and many other very difficult weeds to get rid of. I was affected last year by weedkiller in manure which I purchased from a garden centre. I lost by Jane Moore

to produce the massive branches and leaves? I have so much I give it away to family and neighbours. It is loved by all! i have a lovely crop of chickweed in my greenhouse, which goes in the salad.sadly not all is growing well in the geenhouse, something by Dave Hamilton

Similar story in my garden. Niger for the Goldies, and sunflower hearts for the finches/sparrows/tits. Though with the new feeder Im hoping to introduce other seeds. You could try a bit of green stuff, lettuce, apple, chickweed, dandelion heads by Carol Mc
