Advice required for low maintenance raised beds?

Firey colours- coleus?

tulips not flowering..

very strange. We use new compost and bulbs each year and spring 2011 planting was brilliant despite the bad winter and we had nearly a 100% success with the tulips we choose. Hi borassus... these have been in gound for 4 years now.. i lift and remove by gardenfantic

Black spot on red robin bush

and alleviate the issue.if choosing new photinias to plant pay close attention to the species you are buying.photinia serrulata is highly prone to black spot, where as photinia x fraseri shows far more tolerance to black spot. by elizabeth cooley

Plant suggestions to cover an arch

Can anyone suggest a good climbing plant that will cover an arch in my garden in a shady site under a holly tree. i would like something with some colour bur the main thing would be for the plant to climb and enable me to train it over the arch by snodgrass

Daliah in pots?

I really want a Daliah, the dinner plate size flower ones. I however will have limited space in my garden when I plant it all up with the plants I am growing. Will one do well in a reasonably large pot. Also are these plants any good and do you by cairnsie

Growing seeds

Is there any way I can grow plants from seed without a greenhouse, shed or propagator? Money is very tight and for instance I would like to grow some erigeron but I can't see how I can do it though it would be much cheaper than buying plants. I by Supernanauna

't need lifting, dividing etc in early Spring, as this would disrupt my seeds. You can plant them now if available but there are not that many to choose from-can only think of nerine and autumn crocus off the top of my head Thanks Geoff. Won't they come up by Jess is in the Garden

you want though Sarahlou. Is it 'flowery' or 'green' you're looking for- if you know what I mean! Sweet peas are readily available in GCs etc if you just want something for the summer. Or try cramming it with just one variety - plenty to choose from by Sarahlou67
