Named Roses
will have a number of small flowering plants, almost all of which will be different from each other, and different from their parent rose. You could then make up any name you choose, a bit like naming your dog or cat. If that makes you happy, so be it by Woodnymph2

Talkback: Dogs in the garden
?http://www.dogcarriers.org.uk There is no doubt that dogs and gardens mix. I think is is a pity to have a seperate dog run though - there are far too many plants vying for space in our gardens to give it up. There is another way though - to choose a design and plants that work with the dogs by Chilipops

Talkback: Crop rotation
nitrogen to the soil instead of planting legumes, you could try sowing a green manure in the autumn or spring and then digging in before flowering. You could choose to green manure one or two of your 9 beds as part of your crop rotation. I cant get enough by Roeleke

Sprout Protection
Hi, Here's my first post on GW. I have read that it is advisable to put a 7.5cm collar around the base of the plant to stop insects laying eggs which when hatched will burrow into the soil and eat the stem. My question is, how long do I leave by Andrew Kenneth
