Holes in soil
Hopefully the attached picture will show the problem. It looks as though something has just been poking holes everywhere. No worm casts, just clean holes slightly wider than a pencil width. Any ideas ?     Could be mice, have you got any bulbs down by blueberry77

|Just learned a new trick
them a blast with the washer -.Brilliant result, they were not only spotlessly clean, it actually removed the skins more cleanly than could be done in the kitchen. I know some don't scrape them anymore (vitamins and all that) but we always do. Ken, I by David K

potting compost
Hey all. This may be a real dumb question: Does compost go out of date. I have a bag of potting compost in the shed now for about 2 years its dry and clean i was gonna use it to pot some tomatoes or salad leaf or something would it still be ok by TheGardenGoblin

Using gravel trays
in clay pots. I buy bags of pea gravel from wickes they are nicely bagged and clean to take home in my wee car. Yes bury the pots slightly just an inch or two. Fill the gravel to the top of the gravel trays or 4 inches or so Thank you Weejenny by Justurned60

Purple Sprouting attack
have eaten half of some of the leaves and on 2 plants the top two leaves clean off. What I would like to know is do I have to pull them up and start again or can they be saved. Answers gratefully recieved.Thanks The Determined Veg Grower by The Determined Veg Grower

Bay pests
is remove any leaves I see that have curled over, if I delay the eggs hatch into small white insects. How can I prevent the eggs being laid? They sound like Mealybug. You can spray with a horticultural oil which will suffocate them. I usually clean them up by BYoung

could someone recomend a strong quality product for cleaning up large rockery stones which i cant remember the name of,i want to use something stronger than patio cleaner,last year i just put the karcgher on them which helps but looking to get them by alan bridges

give me to get it clear. it is is the sun until 2pm and is due to be cleaned again as i have trees in the garden. Is it just the fish causing this or anything else? what can i do to keep it clear? please help! you need a good filter system with keeping by linda roberts
