clematis
I have two clematis side by side in pots one is fine the other is flowering but looks like it is wilting and may die, should I spray it cut it back or dispose of it? Wait and see what happens. If it wilts completely and goes brown you probably have by sadie3

Clematis 'Rouge Cardinal'
I pruned my Clematis Rouge Cardinal about 6-8 weeks ago and it began to produce lovey healthy looking shoots. I've just looked at it and all the new growth is wilting. Is it as a result of this unseasonally cold weather and if so will it recover by tattianna

my clemetis is looking sick, any ideas
you can do this year, but cut back the affected stems to round level. Scrape away the top 2 inches of soil of so and replace with fresh. Most plants throw up new shoots next season with no trouble. Ooops, that does sound like clematis wilt - something by motorhomer

Talkback: Clematis 'Arabella'
I've tried five Clematis in my garden over the years and every one survived for only one year before keeling over with Clematis wilt. I'm not sure if it's the local soil but they're not successful for me, I even tried burying a large pot by Clematis Arabella

Bye bye Clematis Cassis
it from the bargain bucket last year. It might have clematis wilt in which case all you can do is cut the stem back to slightly below ground level and keep your fingers crossed that it sends up new growth.  One sign of 'wilt' is that the stems will appear by Swedboy

What is going on with my Clematis?
's not quite rich enough. It sounds like clematis wilt. If the above treatments do not work try cutting all of the growth right down to soil level when the wilt occurs, give the plants a feed, a good deep much around the base of the plants and cover the soil by Joolz13

Clematis montana problem
I have a new Clematis montana which appears to have had all the bark stripped from top to bottom! The remaining leaves have started to wilt (it has lost most leaves) although they do not show the signs of Clematis wilt. It is grown against a fence by SNAPDRAGON63
