Pruning Rowan/Mountain Ash
for their attractive bark colour are pruned to show off the trunk, by removing lower branches. There is nothing wrong with doing this. It is difficult for me to be more specific without seeing a picture of this tree. However, in principle, branches can be removed. Take by lydiaann

Underplanting silver birch

Growing Under Plastic Sheeting
dandelion which start coming up at this time of the year.  Because they will be unable to photosyntensize due to lack of light (I presume they are mostly white/yellow in colour?), they will die as long as you leave the sheeting in place.  To kill all weeds by Andrew Kenneth

Rip it up and start again....
lot of the digging and clearing and levelling now, then cover the lot with weed-supressing membrane, and cover it with bark chips.  That way your LO will have somewhere safe outside where they can play.  Turf is very expensive to buy, so save up by Rebecca Longson

Thuja Plicata turned red
Hi I planted 6 Thuja Plicata 30cm plants a year ago, one of them has turned red a few months ago, the rest are fine. It's the same height as the other plants and looks healthy apart from the colour. It has also got a green child and abnormally thin by Tan

Honey fungus.
in the area until the threads disappear. I used to have a semi-wild woodland and at one time I was sure I had Honey Fungus, lots of honey coloured toadstools clustered round the base of birch trees. I panicked, bought loads of armillotix, searched everywhere by Joyce Goldenlily

Mistletoe
if anything had taken then yesterday I looked up into the large bramley apple tree and low and behold there were about 6 green leaves coming from the bare bark. I was excitedly suspicious! Binoculars confirmed a small cluster of mistletoe, no berries yet but a by Sonja Davison
