Can anyone tell me how effective the rotating compost bins are? Thanks! Pretty hopeless I would imagine.  I suspect the contents would clump at the bottom so as you turned they would just go round the outside of the bin rather than mixing by flowerpower5

I started composting in  February this year and so far i have got nothing but a bad smell. Is there anything I can do to speed up the process without using chemicals?   Tell us how you're making your compost and then we might have an idea where by Martyn2

Compost
I recently purchased three bags of Gardenline muti-purpose compost from Aldi. It contains shredded plastic, pieces of masonry, bits of glass and today I've just found bits of somebody's old sunglasses to say nothing of the twigs, pebbles and woody by jackinthewood

A Compost recipe !!
The 3 things needed for making compost are Air, Heat and Moisture in equal measures. Its not the grass, twigs, leaves or veg peelings that makes compost, although they are important, its the micro-organisms that really do the job. Provide by marshmello

Weeds in compost bin?
about a year ago, some weeds were accidently put in our compost bins - I didn't realise this had happened until a few months ago when my husband told me. Anyway, obviously I dont want to now use the compost on our garden, but is there anything I can by LavenderLois
