Successful Compost
I have a compost bin, but find that when adding garden waste to it, I just end up with a smelly pile of rotting substance as opposed to anything that resembles compost, although I have watched and read many articles on this subject, nothing seems by Labradouble

orchid compost
Hi, I have tiny pin head type mushrooms appearing in my orchid compost. Are they a problem to myslef or the orchid? Should I remove them? If so what is the best way to do this please? These are orchids which have been resting for a while by elaineday

Orchid Compost
Can anyone tell me what other plants I can repot using Orchid Compost.  I have had to buy a 10 ltr bag to repot 2 small orchids! I would imagine any type of bromeliads, but i would check first. by Whinnie

Used Compost?
Whats the best thing to do with used compost from pots and seed trays? Compost it, throw it onto the garden, re-use it to fill the bottom of large containers/pots and top the rest with fresh, bottom of hanging baskets. Just a few ideas - I'm sure by tom hewer

I have just upturned my compost bin to mix the waste whish I have been collecting for 12 months adding all kinds of household greens etc and ensuring that I have added thin cardboard etc.I was astonished to see how wet the mixture was, and I can by HomemanLL

COMPOST MIX
HI Just watch Fri episode of GW.  Monty was potting up cuttings of herbs and putting them in a gritty compost mix. Can anyone tell me what proportions and how to make this mix up. Thanks A 50 - 50 mix of multipurpose compost & sharp sand will do by leafinthewind

Which compost?
