what can i use instead of plastic pots
holders, tape over the bottom. Plastic drink cups,yogurt pots- look on freecycle-I often see flowerpots being given away. Most of the garden centres near me have a large bin neat the exit where they put trays (usualy used for holding pots), I've used by Lavender Lady

Dig up and make new
satisfying. This garden is built on old gravel diggings with rubbish dumped. I planted stuff where i could find soil without too much brick rubble/glass/plastic/agricultural poison containers and have since taken an area at a time, dug out rubbish, added by Verdun

Size of roots removed
Hello, This may be an odd question, but when de-rooting an overgrown garden (mainly brambles, ivy) at what size root do you say is small enough to remin in the ground? I started off by removing all the roots I come accross (nothing else in garden by Aefio

plastic milk containers into strips, then use a permanent black marker pen to write the name on, Doesn't cost a penny and are reusable!! Well us gardeners use our loaves when it comes to thrifty ideas in the garden , if anyone has any more ideas  about by thrifty mama
