FEED UP WITH THIS WEATHER

Burying seedlings to the true leaves
I am slightly confused over this. Some people here thinks that you can do this with all veg and others only with solanceas (Tomatoes, chilies and peppers). Can some cast some light on this for me. If you could to this with beans, marrows, courgettes by Swedboy

also read about growing courgettes on top of manure, but I still think it has to be well rotted so as not to burn the plant. The only time fresh manure is used is to make a hotbed. This has been featured on GW several times over the years and was a by flowergirl4

courgette seedlings
i am new to growing veg ,my courgette seedlings are all in individual pots but after being in sun some leaves are drying out ,how do i restore them Drying out how? Changing colour? Crisping up? In the meantime, the most common problem with seedlings by H7

Peppers
, the same goes for marrows and courgettes.  The flowers fall off the males when the pollen has been spent.  The flowers fall off the females in due time.  If the fruit rots and falls off it has not been fertilized.  Do not feed until you have fertilized by Teresa McFarlane

Cucumbers
giving your plant better stability and more roots to seek the feed & moisture.  I do this for courgettes and tomatoes too. It also seems to work on flowering plants too, currently Cosmos, Ipomoea, Chilean Glory Vine are all doing well. I hate to disagree by gatehill

Maggots in veg patch
compost for the top which we covered the surface with. Into this which looked good we then planted on one side; radish, little gem, courgette and i bought a butternut squash plant in the garden centre. All was going well for about 3 weeks. Then i started by cupcakesarah

and well-rotted manure to it every year. For a quick fix for this year, try adding comfrey pellets to each planting hole before you pop your vegetable plants in. You can also add an organic fertiliser, such as seaweed, to your watering can to water by Gemma

have withstood the ferocious winds of the past few summers. Anyone found anything better than a compost heap to grow courgettes on? I garden in Bulgaria, could not find canes in the shops near here,so used branches and string. My beans are right up by mikegrahambarrett
