We had a natural wildflower patch professional sown and had lots of these thistles. Very pretty but now had thistles growing in the middle of the lawn !!! I'm glad the above advise confirms I'm doing the right thing by both digging out and using by MalcolmJ

I have creeping buttercup in my borders and attack it from early spring by digging up any plants and runners I can see. This is generally easier to do in spring before the shrubs etc start spreading. Hopefully I will beat the buttercup one by mavis8491

and tending and they'll be easy enough to keep cleared - easier than groundsel and bittercress and creeping buttercups and thistles and couch grass which are also a constant feature in my garden no matter how often I weed and hoe. I too try to be as organic by Wendy8

agree i leave nettles coming up amoungst my plants every year.. their flowers are pretty enough to tolerate.. And thyir sting is good for arthritic bits but I have  " week old rash now from dealing with a combo of nettles, thistles and sticky bud in one by donutsmrs

light! As for poinsettias, don't get me started.... I hate creeping buttercup - more like galloping buttercup! And dandelions. Love honeysuckle and aquilegias and roses and fuscias and pinks - plants that grow happily and profusely in my garden Hmm. I by SPAM VALLEY
