Brunnera Jack Frost
My Jack Frosts have been lovely this spring, masses of new growth and flowers.  I have cut back the flowers, but the plants are still growing strongly and are threatening to over shadow the hardy fuschias and other perennials that are struggling by sallya42

Flowers we don't like?
Had a belated birthday party yesterday and lots of people brought cut flowers or flowering houseplants. As I was arranging them this morning and thinking how happy I am to be surrounded by flowers, I wondered if there were any flowers that I wouldn by artjak

Cannas
Due to the crud weather and distinct lack of sun my cannas did not thrive sufficiently to flower.  Should i still cut them down and store for next year or will this harm the development of next years flowers? It would be better if you could leave by marinam2

Pelargoniums, overwintering
I brought in 4 pelagoniums for the winter. They are in pots on a cool window sill and kept dry. When the flowers ended I cut back to 4inches and although they have been very keen to shoot I have been taking off most shoots and small flower buds by Susan O'Meara

Pruning heathers
Can you cut back heathers that have become "leggy" without harming the plant and if so when is the best time to do so? Jo, trim back heathers immediately after flowering,BUT, do not cut into old wood. Ideally just cut two thirds of the way down by Jo Hitchcock
