Mother in Law's Tongue
Hi, I received a new Mother in Law's Tongue plant from eBay recently. I've noticed that small wrinkled patches were forming on the leaf surface after a few days only. Having lived with them for a week now, they have developed into huge light green by TimS

My first plant - fruiting grapevine

Beasties etc found in lawns
disappears and I'm left with just hard compacted soil patches.  Each time it's sown it looks lush by July/August.  Then it disappears over winter.  It's currently a mess yet again. They look like leatherjackets, which turn into horrible daddylonglegs.  You by yarrow2

Evergreen Lawn
. I noticed on one thread that cutting once a week will help thicken the lawn so will try this. I think we may have left the first cut to long but not really sure as we have never had a new lawn and not really confident gardeners. Would really by Chris9

gardening, we have got a patch where my little sis plays that is wild :) Great article - really important to use native plants to help are indigenous wildlife! If we all did our bit in just a small section of our gardens it would create such a huge habitat by kaycurtis

I want daisies to grow in the grass
memories of my childhood. A lawn can't really be called a lawn if there are no daisies.I have a few patches of daisies, but they are only visible in places where the grass has not been cut for a while....   The heads are perhaps 4 inches above the ground by Supernanauna

Forsythia

etc....I have lifted some and put them into a pot of earth - they has started to produce baby bulbs. Hydrangea arborescens - incrediball - I bought these and one has put on a lot of growth - do I/should I cut it back to form a tighter plant or let by MaxiiLS

I see blackbirds daily on my lawn. Think they are digging up worms. Feel awful when I cut the clover heads off when mowing the lawn but I have a dog and clearing up after him is not so easy with long grass!! :-) I always think of the flowers we by ChristyRose

lawn brown ead and dying patches...
hi everyone.. my lawn which was lush and green in may is now covered in dead and dying brown patches. i do not know what is causing it.. dad sai ants which i ahve  alot off and neighbour says dragonfle larve.. but it is everywhere.. will try and add by gardeningfantic
