Can anyone tell me the best way to get rid of dandelions from my lawn they are driving me mad!!     I know what you mean, I love them and hate them. Systemic weedkiller is the only way, though, that I know of. I couldn't recommend  specific brand by Monty Bitz2

Talkback: Dandelions
Pippa i agree and we also have a wonderful display of dandelions here in cardiff. Walking along in the park one day i remembered a bbc program by alyss fowler (edible garden) which said you could fry and eat dandelion flower heads. So into my bag by bushybushkins

Talkback: Dandelion
I find common salt - you know the type you use for cooking - will kill a dandelion right down to the root - yes it leave you a white patch in your lawn, but that soon grows over! Thanks PJ. I will try this. I'll try the salt option too but plan by PamelaJ

Like Pippa I love dandelions. I have picked many heads from the garden this summer. Ive washed and dried them and popped them into freezer bags and am hoping to make dandelion wine. Not tried making it before, but as a child I used to pick by Richard Jones

Weeds in lawn
Hiya, anyone have experience with a lawn covered in dandelions. When I remove using garden fork, I usually end up breaking root due to depth and a big hole in lawn. We only turfed a couple of years ago and its starting to look a mess. Any advice by CanIDoThis

Does anyone know the name of this plant?
Was interrupted by trying to upload photo and failing.  Sorry.  This plant is very like a dandelion but taller with thin grass-like leaves emanating from its stem.  The flower is like a "neat" dandelion and the seedhead is just beautiful.  Huge by fiona10
