Hanging baskets for Scottish climate
the top and will look nice as the basket continues to mature.   Dead-heading and a liquid feed like miracle-grow is advisable. Water at least once a day when dry, sometimes twice if in full sun.  Im in Fife and mine has primula in it at the moment by sanita s

Yellow Rose - bought as a miniature
it in a small pot.  I am happy for it not to be a miniature I'm just unsure as to why all of the leaf and bud growth seems to be at the top of the plant and not near the bottom. When dead-heading it, cut down each stem to about 1/3 of its length, and see by mdw84

Talkback: Snow plants
- but wasn't able to get it covered up with fleece before the cold snap. Will it survive? The good news is that pansies under 6 inches of snow do not need regular deadheading! Cauliflower, onions, garlic and rhubarb will all start into growth again when by Mary

My Garden 2012
, but this one easily outdid that (with lots of fertilizer and good old deadheading...) Phlox can be a little tricky to sprout, and they only do it naturally at the end of winter and beginning of spring. Annual phlox is not hardy, though; it has few roots and do by rusflorum

are still in  flower, should I cut the flower stems off? Thanks snapdragons will come through if they're in very well drained soil, even better in a wall. But you'll get lots of seedlings next year as long as you haven't dead-headed too seriously. Bowles by jackie frost

Grassed area at the side of my house.
, sandy, silty, loam or clay - and how much maintenance you are able to do.  Some plants look after themselves, others need regular pruning, shaping, dead-heading. Do you see it from your windows or just when out in the garden?  That makes a difference by dannyboy10

Viola - Plant or Not to Plant?
been out all winter and still flowering, would have more if I remembered to keep deadheading. Good idea to harden them off first for a couple of days by 1985blonde

allium purple sensation and irises taking over my small garden

Beloved Lavender bushes dying
Dear All, We have five lavender bushes all about four years old. I deadhead and use the flowers daily and the bushes flower all year round (we are in the middle of the Atlantic Rainforest outside Rio). After temps of up to 40deg and torrential rains by Pena Selvagem
