Pruning a beech hedge
? Many thanks I think this would be more like winter pruning of deciduous shrubs than hedging. I'd do it after this cold snap has finished Trim hedges in the late winter, before birds start nesting, and to encourage them to thicken up.  If you're sure by chicky

what is this tree?
Can anyone tell me what this tree is. It still has almost all of its leaves. Last spring I pulled off all the previous years leaves so now wonder if it isn't decidu   ous as I had assumed Is it some sort of Euonymus? Close-up view of a leaf by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

pansies primrose primulas etc....
find most type of primroses grow well under decidues trees / summer flowering shrubs  ( exept the ones which need lots of water, I cannot grow Bullimia type - please exuse spellings), when  the primroses have  finished flowering  they die down by mike2li

Unidentified shrub. Please help!!!
Can anyone identify this shrub. Been bugging me for about 2 years. Large, parsley like leaves, deciduous. Forsythia like stems but much darker. Never seen it flower. Client likes it cut into a ball shape. Without identifying it, I don't know when by In Depth Garden Maintenance

Hydrangea
Hi everybody,once again advise if you can please,iv taken loads of Hydrangea  cuttings and they are doing ok indoors some single pots some 5or6 in large pots,its the first time iv done this as i want them for shrub wind protection up the allotment by Alan4711

In flower now
that frosy weather doesn't get everything. Found aconitim in flower, also a lavetera (shrub) which i thought was deciduous but still has leaves, buds and a couple of flowers. Erysimun and erigeron K (small daisy type) by Muvs Dashwood

Mystery plants
. is deciduous, is that right?  Manner of growth is quite useful for ID and a pic of a complete shrub could help. Particularly as we can only get tiny images here right now. 1. All Viburnums can be ruled out as they have leaves opposite to each other on a branch by Maggie jones
