Trees suitable for a private road

what is this tree?

Can anyone tell me what this tree is. It still has almost all of its leaves. Last spring I pulled off all the previous years leaves so now wonder if it isn't decidu ous as I had assumed Is it some sort of Euonymus? Close-up view of a leaf by Bev Pounsett-Krynauw

idea. Eucalyptus shrubs/trees tend to be evergreen so if your tree is deciduous this response from me can be ignored !!! Also, after time, some varieties shed their bark which is an attractive feature, in my view, as it makes it more interesting by Gardening Grandma

Suggestions please

pansies primrose primulas etc....

find most type of primroses grow well under decidues trees / summer flowering shrubs ( exept the ones which need lots of water, I cannot grow Bullimia type - please exuse spellings), when the primroses have finished flowering they die down by mike2li

in the summer? Not a good idea. Thirsty evergreens like leylandii will cast a lot of shade which will not do your lawn any good at all, and deciduous trees will not draw up any moisture when you most need it in winter, and will result in a lot of moss, followed by fazzini

Plant suggestions to cover an arch

Can anyone suggest a good climbing plant that will cover an arch in my garden in a shady site under a holly tree. i would like something with some colour bur the main thing would be for the plant to climb and enable me to train it over the arch by snodgrass
