Propagating Cushion Chrysanthemums
that there is a correct way to do it in the spring  but I find they divide really easily and if I break a piece off that they root really easily in water or gritty compost. by bobloes

'd also divide them. They should be divided every three or four years. As Alina has said if they're covered they won't flower - are they in the middle of a border? They really do need to get lots of sun to their rhizomes. I have mine on the edge of a by bigdow

can anybody tell whether in can divide sweet williams and if so how and when Not really a plant suitable  for dividing-you are better of starting new plants off now from seed for flowering in 12 months. As sotongeoff says, they are usually treated by Ross Gravett

pot bound by now anyway, and divide, search the earth carefully, then re pot all the divided ones, it worked for for me !  good luck by maggzy

No flowers on bergenia
.  They are not gappy and have lots of healthy leaves. Should I be dividing them and replanting the youngest bits?  Is it too late to do it now?  If not, do I dig in a lot of compost, adding some fertiliser (e.g. blood, fish and bone), before replanting? by Bouleversee

Just in from  a great day in the garden. Not the usual seven layers on, in fact almost balmy. Have been dividing perennials. I love the idea that you are getting lots of plants for free and you know they will do well because they have already done by punkdoc

iris growing
is the minimum depth the pans would be and and when would be the best time to divide my overcrowded iris patch.Irises look good for only 1 or 2 Months and even their lovely green leaves start to die back about now So I thourght that growing them in a more by liz14

worth buying primroses now?
will be soon leave the plants alone apart from weeding, the top growth will also die back then start to come again in Autumn. Clean around the plants and a mulch of compost around them then leave to flower.After flowering next year lift and divide the plants re by djjjuk
