elsewhere? Absolutely.  Relocate them as far away from your pond as possible.  They will even eat small fish once fully grown.  Now, I'm not saying you are wrong - I would not presume such a thing - but could they be dragonfly larvae?  They are quite similar by Jeanne F

Flying Ants
insect ever,,, looked like a dragonfly but a huge gold and brown or black body, the wings didnt shine blue like normal, and i watched it either scooping water of the pond or maybe laying eggs onto a water plant ,must have been 5 to 6 inches across by donutsmrs

Australian Swamp Stonecrop
We have a large wildlife pond which has become clogged with this type of stonecrop.It seems thst pulling it out can actually spread it as it is fragile and any bits that snap off will quickly regrow. We have carp , newts , dragonfly larva .. all by jo17

butterflies or dragonflies that came close. The images of damselflies I have found so far all show translucent wings, which these were not. Can anyone suggest what species they might be please? Many thanks. We put our wildlife pond in in February. Last weekend by Richard Jones

. After all that gymnastics how can people step on their offspring? I saw in my garden late yesterday afternoon a lot of dragonflies whizzing back and forth and wondered why. Is this the time for something I haven't noticed before. I live on the Isle by Richard Jones
