peony rosebuds
and how to stop it? I sprayed the plant with bug killer when I discovered 3 of the buds were damaged but since then another two have been infected. Is this a peony or a rose Heddy? I think it might well be earwigs. One trick is to fill a smallflowerpot by Heddy52

Osteospermum
heads are also dropping Waterlogged roots can cause die-back so that's a distinct possibility. You could try giving them a good balanced feed in case they are short of some nutrient. Or could it be earwigs eating the tenderest bit of the stem? It by John Reynolds
