My best buy of the year

weather and plants in pots
Dear all, I bought 2 weeks ago enough box to do about 20m of garden edge. I ran out of time before getting the last 4m in. Now the weather has turned ugly. What is the best thing to do with them? 9cm pots with about 20cm growth. I also have half by Bill Mansfield

Lonicera Nitida
of low box hedges around beds.  The box succumbed to box blight and the hedges were replaced with Lonicera nitida.  They were happily trimmed with both electric and hand clippers, although into straight edges, so don't see why they can't be made into ball by Rosa carriola

Side of House
, etc. Something easy wihtout much maintenance. Below where the flue is there is some edging, that will be also set across the grass, perpendicular to the house & fence, with chips or bits of slate between that edging & a bit of fence to be put in front by Highland Jeannie

Edwardian terraced house front
to the front door should be clearly defined, often with black and red quarry tiles in an alternate pattern. The path would be edged by rope edging, still on sale, though you would have to make some lower for the bins which you could put in a hidey hole by SiwanS

Box Blight
I have acouple of health box globes but am thinking of putting in box as an edging for flower beds. Every time I Look at Gardeners World T.V. or magazine someone is issuing dire  warnings about blight. Is it really such a threat? Any suggestions by Dilys

Rocket guzzlers
've put coffee grounds all around edge. I thought was doing quite well then two mornings ago I found a slug on the greenhouse wall and snail trails over the pots, so I thought ' I'll fix you lot' and I put saucers of beer slops on every shelf by Jigsaw Gill

pond plants
marginal? Ferns and marsh marigolds (Caltha palustris) are good at water's edge. I had both at previous pond- a small waterfall which brought the water supply in from a spring had both of those beside it and we had dwarf weeping willows and a cotoneaster by Leslie Longstaff

Is this Pea Weevil?
the edges leaving a notched appearance to the leaves. A bit of Googling and the damage is identical to that done by Pea Weevil. But isn't it a bit early for these pests to be out doing their stuff? - most articles refer to them being a problem from early by Topbird
