Basil with a problem
have what I can only describe as transparent patches - it looks as though somebody has scraped away the green colouring on both sides of the leaves. Some leaves are brownish on the edges too. Can somebody tell me what this is - and what I should do? I by Berkley

mine (a purple, palmatum, about 2 ft high) is also going greener now, as well as having slightly dried out/crispy edges to some of its leaves. She told me that loads of their plants have been suffering too- the change in colour, she thinks, is due by Detirer

plants for a wild life friendly meadow
never tried to introduce garden varieties into the meadows.  What I have found is that sometimes plants establish more easily around the edges of the meadow first, and then spread their way towards the middle, so if you're introducing things like by nutcutlet

.  Wait until after flowering, then try and release the rootball from the pot.  If you can see any offsets around the edges, it should be easy to pull them off and plant them in small pots without seriously damaging the main tuber. Hi Dove - snap!   Great by Carol Mc

Evergreen fast growing shrubs
shape. I love this one. Elaeagnus Gilt Edge, Cotoneaster Franchetti (berries for the birds), and I like Photinia Red Robin, already suggested. They are all evergreen. Make sure you improve the soil after removing conifers, they leave dry acid soil behind by Neil Mumford

but there are several similar. The first could be Lonicera pileata as Berghill suggests but is too small for me. Sorry, that's Red Edge, not Red Ace, Pic 4 could be hebe pagei Again, the inability to enlarge the pictures makes life very hard, especially when one by Jye

Advice Needed!
and hence more produce. These beds are usually no wider than 4 foot so that they can be reached from either side without the need to walk on them. It is not essential, but they are often edged with wooden boards to keep them tidy and I think by Bridget Langham

Re-felting a shed
is easy peasy - throw the felt over the roof and nail it on with felt nails, tucking the edges under. Also, there are a zillion vids to watch on youtube, titled: How to refelt a shed roof. As for the door, build it yourself - just copy the old door using by bcosergio

Petrol lawn mower
along a lawn edge the front and back wheels on one side dropped down into the border and I scalped the lawn edge. To combat this I had to use the handle frame to hold teh deck horizontal, which was hard work and put a lot of strain on the handle frame by wildpatch

...also wild rabbits love to eat anything I have planted..so ideas on that would be good too x Mowing is made much easier by having a good edge to mow to in the first place. I've got a recycled plastic lawn edge - it was easy to fit and is really durable http by kaycurtis
