There are so may exotic fruit & veg in our supermarkets these days, and I assume may posters here have a go at cultivation from the seeds.... no matter how unlikely the outcome! I've succeeded (without any great skill) in growing some Dragon fruit by paull2

Talkback: A gardeners' visit to Madeira
I saw a poinsettia plant in Nairobi over fourteen feet high in full flower. It was glorious but then my Clematis montana is too, climbing over my garage roof. I agree, Pippa, it's lovely to see the exotics but the real thrill is what we can grow by Tammy McLeod

North Facing Front Garden

Talkback: Sir Joseph Banks
have just planted one in his honour in my Bristol garden - an anonymous thank you for giving us a free art show in the museum. Who knows whether his real name is Banks or if his first work was on the river bank? I have Photinia that was a mass by Richard Jones

Great to see your experimentation paid off. Of course, we could get caught out by a very cold winter, but it's interesting to see which plants survive if we can give them the right conditions. Lots of people growing corn hve asked when is it ready by happymarion

Online seed suppliers?
- been using them all for years. Also use wilkos, B&Q and local garden centres. I've bought from this site and would probably use them again. http://www.seedaholic.com/   Plant World seeds, http://www.plant-world-seeds.com/ have supplied me with some by LeadFarmer

Unidentified growing object!
This plant reaches about 1m high, then in summer produces large spherical heads of flowers purple out side and lilac within, which have the scent of hyacinths. In its earlier phase it looks like a weed, and is extremely invasive. It spreads by le jardin anglais
