How To Start Veg Growing
like..i would value all your advice.thanks what is your budget for this project?   If you are planting in soil it will need preparing first. Dig in some manure and/or compost. This will help if it's clay and provide nourishment. I wouldn't sow anything by tony68

decorative pots
Hi all , I have been given a large pot for my patio.  What can you reccomend to plant in it.   It is 18" tall and on the bottom is stamped 75 litres which I assume is what it holds .  It is black and made from something that resembles terracotta by pansy2

New Gardener . . . New House . . . What would you plant?
. Do you have frosts, I don't think so. If not, then you can plant all sorts of things that  readers here can't.  I agree with climbers and big planters, but could you go for colourful exotic plants like Bouganvilla, Hibiscus, Oleanders, Lantana by lakerhater

Invasive plants to avoid
exotically good Now Alstromeiria do not survive in our garden, too cold we think. Another set of plants to plant with caution are any of the perennial Helianthus. They can spread widely if suited. I'm fortunate in that my aquilegia Guiness or Magpie produce by christopher2

What are your top 5 plants you'd never want to be without - because you love them for themselves as individuals or because they're indispensable as part of a group? Thought it'd be interesting to hear what other people are mad about and maybe get by auntie betty
