. This sounds like fasciation, and it's not harmful. (There are some images of fasciated cherry trees here.) You can either cut the affected growth out, or, as our following guide says, enjoy it for its curiosity value! More information about fasciation. Daniel by chrislobsterman

Any ideas what has happened to my foxglove?
I've attached some picture of my foxglove. It's perfectly normal except for the top flower of each stem which looks like a fussion of multiple flowers. Any ideas what has happened to it? Is it worth saving the seed? It's called fasciation by Katherine Clark

be called fasciation. A shock of some sort, or damage to the growing bud, causes abnormal growth. I know for certain that no hormone weedkillers have been used in my garden, so this can't be the cause. What do you think? you would think that having just by Darren
