Talkback: Black-headed gulls
Richard I had a Black Cap feeding on my Callicarpa berries today.Looking on the RSPB website it seem they are spending winters in England,Before Christmas there a Hen Black Cap in the same bush (with a brown head).We get quite an amount of Gul by oldchippy

Bark mulch
mulch extensively in my garden every spring and the birds do indeed fling it about. Every now and then, I have to pick it off the lawn or a nearby plant. I think it depends on what type of birds are feeding in the area which is perhaps less frequent by DavesBonnyLass

Moss
My front lawn has a great deal of moss amongst the grass.  If I put down a moss killer, I am afraid I will have an almost bare lawn.  What should I do? If you use a moss killer with a weed and feed treatment combined that will help-when the moss had by jenniferrussell

in my garden we have lots of little sparrows. I feed them all year round as they are my favourite bird in the garden. Unfortunately a sparrow hawk has noticed this and the numbers have dramatically fallen, also we have ferral cats which are not helping by Paul Narramore

couple of years at our bird feeding station, particularly after fats, and the seeds in the fats, they only appear for a few weeks January/February, then disappear for the rest of the year, we live in South Wales, is anyone else recording these birds by Radarsmum67

we have got seed and fat balls out for the birds and we have a number of regular visitors feeding, also a couple of squirrels which we dont mind but lately we have noticed a brown rat, about the size of a small guinea pig darting in and out amongst by summerpots

if feeding the birds ensure you have a supply of fresh clean water available for them also.Richard you also mentioned Red Admirals, I can report we still have the odd one fluttering around down here in Somerset as well as the odd bee by Davidbrito

,robins and of course the yobish starlings. its been great to watch the feeders everyday. ive been feeding them on sunflower seeds and wild bird seed.the blackbirds,doves and woodpigeons clean up the ground below.ive also got a family of squirrels, my daughter has also by Grannyanne
