LAWN SCARE!!
Pinkpeony, can you describe what is happening to your lawn.. At this time of the year lawns are attacked by crane fly larvae feeding on the grass roots. Birds search for these grubs and because the grass roots have been eaten the grass is torn up too by pinkpeony

Best type of bird feeder for a city garden?
I now live in a city and wish to feed the birds. I already have two metal poles like shepherd's hooks which, in the past in the country, were effective against squirrels. What sort of bird feeders should I now buy that would feed small birds by Girasole

Mildew
garden where sometimes milk was used on foliage to counteract mildew. Does anybody know any other 'unusual' methods for dealing with garden problems? I've never really tried it, but I have read that attracting birds into your garden with feeders can by Emma Crawforth

Talkback: Birds: helping garden birds in spring
birds stopped feeding until he left and as to the fat balls they seem to be very fussy I have the RSPB ones and they are hard but the ones in the red mesh they love, not saying the birds do not like the RSPB ones but just seems to take them longer to eat by karinhoppe
