Talkback: Feeding plants
Phew, it's not just my garden then! Was starting to get quite worried about the look of some of my plants. Will keep up with the feeding this week then - let's hope there is enough time to get around them all before the rain starts again! Bring by Abby2

Feeding Seedlings and Plug Plants
&M, some of which are coming on nicely and some of which seem a bif sluggish in comparison.  They're all in exactly the same place and have exactly the same conditions I was wondering if I should feed them with a general plant food?  They are in potting by ShropshireLass

Talkback: How to feed your plants
It is good to be reminded to feed the plants in the garden especially the ones in pots as they can't fend for themselves, when we've trapped them in pots. How long can you keep chicken pellet for, I have some from last year, will it still by kaycurtis

A week ago we sprinkled granular lawn feed and weed killer all over the lawn (most of the garden), inculding areas down the edges that I had planned to tuen into flower beds. Do I need to wait before doing this now? I've got loads of stuff to plant by PaperFlowers

Feeding Birds / Protecting your plants
I find it interesting that under 'jobs to be done this week' it is suggested that we cover fruit trees and bushes to stop birds eating the emerging fruit buds and at the same time we get a whole raft of suggestions on how best to feed our garden by Beanli

Talkback: How to grow ring culture tomatoes
If you FEED a tomato plant BEFORE the tomatoes are set you will get a big plant with big leaves and little or no fruit. This is NOT the correct ring culture . The correct equipment is a bottomless pot with a 'moat' around it. Liquid feed is applied by gharrop

Fert Schedules
Would one recommend plant feeding with a balanced fert in Autumn/ Winter esp when transplanting or wait until Spring. I prefer using lood hoof and bone meal  for majority of veg and herb plants but use sparingly in Autumn. Feed in the spring when by potatoes

Hanging baskets
enough plants in them and they didnt seem to bush out. You don't need many in a basket that size, but you do need to feed and water well. Were you feeding a minimum of weekly with tomato fertilizer and watering regularly? Thanks for the reply Alina! Thats by maggzy

what feed?
Hi, I was just reading an article in the RHS mag that said magnesium deficiency causing yellowing leaves etc, can be caused by over use of nitrogen feeds such as tomato feed as potassium competes with magnesium for uptake by plants. I use as much by sthlndngrower
