Talkback: Black-headed gulls
Richard I had a Black Cap feeding on my Callicarpa berries today.Looking on the RSPB website it seem they are spending winters in England,Before Christmas there a Hen Black Cap in the same bush (with a brown head).We get quite an amount of Gul by oldchippy

I have a robin which frquents my garden everyautumn and winter. it feeds and watches the activities if other birds as well as me. At dusk it sits near the bird feeder and as it gets dark it has supper befire flying away to roost.I call it Peter. I by kathryn.brock

enough plants in them and they didnt seem to bush out. You don't need many in a basket that size, but you do need to feed and water well. Were you feeding a minimum of weekly with tomato fertilizer and watering regularly? Thanks for the reply Alina! Thats by maggzy

Fert Schedules
Would one recommend plant feeding with a balanced fert in Autumn/ Winter esp when transplanting or wait until Spring. I prefer using lood hoof and bone meal  for majority of veg and herb plants but use sparingly in Autumn. Feed in the spring when by potatoes

Blue Butterfly
I would like to know the name of this small butterfly seen yesterday and what it would feed on? Small blue butterfly is probably a Holly Blue. it feeds on Holly flowers and forgetme nots and lays its eggs on Ivy, Holly, and brambles which by jaries

Problem with new Turf Lawn
was planning to start feeding in Spring. Do I need to feed now due to the growth and mild weather?  Confused in Devon Won't do any harm feeding it now and water it too. apply a good all in one lawn feed and plenty of water. yellowing usually water shortage by Devonlady
