banks for the primroses (and maybe some wild-type violets too)? For summer I'd put in wild flowers such as cow parsley,  pink and white campion, and wild foxgloves, and some dryopteris ferns and hardy geraniums, and some honeysuckle.   For the autumn by Mother Hen

difficult spot - shade wise!
flowered area, what would you suggest? Thanks!! Hi jmeds-what kind of soil do you have and how big an area is it? There are lots of shade loving plants-hostas,ferns,periwinkle,euphorbia, heucheras etc but your conditions will make a difference! Thanks by jmeds

and can be damp. I have both maidenhair spleenwort and hart's-tongue fern growing on the wall and they are beautiful, they are a joy to me every time I open the back door. I love ferns and have often considered buying some to put in pots at this end by anon

Plant advice needed : damp shade
and flower most of the summer. I grow acteas....Usually dark purple or brownish foliage, quite statuesque with scented late summer flowers...and they too will go there.Astilbes, ferns, certain grasses.Aconitums have tall normally blue flowers .....and love by Michelle7

Windy Back Garden......Help needed please.

Plants for either side of front door?
Standishii, or Camelias or dwarf azaleas/rhododendrons. For scent Daphne's ....daphne odoraaureomarginata, an evergreen one......or choisya, Mexican,orange blossom, also evergreen I have two lovely ferns in pots either side of my backdoor. It's a fairly by BoristheBold

will cope, some obviously taller than others. J. Brilliant suggestions from jo4eyes, I would add hebes for evergreen interest, especially the small leaved varieties, ferns ofc any size and brilliant colours, Fatsia Japonica for architectural shape by Gardengirl..
