Conifer Hedge Turned Brown - What Next?
neighbours as it backs onto a main road.   If I did rip down and replan what would people recommend. The requirements are fairly fast grower to 8 foot or so, evergreen and not privet (always hated it). I want to be able to train it into a formal hedge again by Nwalch

,nothing formal,got to have some grass for little girl to play in summer, front garden west facing path up middle,neighbours got rhododendrons so presume camellia on my wishlist would do well? (williamsii think 'donation'?)I'm utterly useless on computer and have by Baldrick

I have a small/average size garden for a typical suburban house, maybe 30ft by 30ft. I have a large patio and then grass with a border at the back and one either side. Having ripped out the existing garden when we moved into the house 2 years ago by frustrated_gardener

stunning in their own right but also taste delicious.What other ideas have people tried? Cardoons are very statement-like plants for a formal garden and all of the plant can be cooked and eaten, If you do have to have hanging baskets why not make them by abbed

choice....I.e. growing healthy food at reasonable cost. I do agree GW is not as inspiring as it used to be...it has become too formal I always thought this site was about gardening tips and help, there are lots of sites around for view airing, i by JANAPANA

in the approach to gardening and perhaps life too (!) is empathy. Order and formality can be sophisticated and impressive and these can be achieved beautifully but a wildflower meadow (for example)buzzing with life, colour, texture and movement - this just is by Wild Soundscape
