We are fortunate enought to have a house right next to a field which is used by a local stable to keep a dozen horses in. As there is no agricultural machinery rattling up and down it all through the year a family of foxes have made it their home by grandiflora

Wow. I have heard that a solution of sulphate of iron in water is good for improving brown patches on the lawn...is this correct? I'm so glad that foxes don't visit my garden although we have them in the area, maybe it's because I don't feed them by rosamiller

Yes, they're a right pain in the backside - walking over the vegetable plot, seed beds etc. I try to keep them out but to little avail. What's the best form of deterrent - ultrasound, chemical sprays etc...?? we have foxes and badgers that come by gatehill

We have peacocks in our garden and the foxes have had two of them over the years. They peacocks normally roost high in the oak tree, but for reasons unknown to us, on 2 occasions they haven't and therefore fallen victim. Although this makes me sad by PaulS

Talkback: Urban foxes
I have two visiting foxes at present, one shy but one who just loves to sit and watch me work. My dopey squirrel is still around, the one who insists on going down flat to get under the side gate even when it is open. Having a very long garden by miss daisy

They(foxes) are good at keeping the urban rat in control too, Richard. When the population was decimated by the mange in Bristol rat holes appeared in many gardens that had not seen them before. I do not have a cat but the neighbours' cats are all by arj300882

their seed and crumbs and the fox's footprints led right to my back door. Snow gone now so went out to see what had fared best plantwise and it was my golden feverfew. Its lime green was so cheering and the red pyracantha berries have survived and thawed by Mandy
