Talkback: Of rats and tree rats
to remember to reapply quite often. I feed birds,squirrels,and a fox,but now I have a rat that appears in the garden.What do I do?I don't wan't to stop feeding the wild-life,so any answers,please Reply to Masdip. The rat is just taking advantage of the food by SuziQ

..but I don't have any around mine...so if anyone can come up with a better way to get rid of them I'd love to know...thanks I got a feeling that the clear jelly is actually what they put inside a nappy. most likely got at by a fox and riped apart. I have by Anonymous

" rat deterrent. Will see if it works. I believe it is fox urine to sprinkle in and under house and around garden. Supposedly rats will flee the area.We'll see. I feed the birds in feeders and have made firm friends with a Robin that sits right next by Grannyanne

mornings and late evenings. This is ok for me in the countryside with space and housing and security against foxes and dogs for the ducks. I dont use chemical sprays or pellets, my flowers and beds are not torn or scratched up by the ducks. The manure by Dragonfly

Talkback: Growing giant sunflowers - planting out
drizzle we had all day in Bristol yesterday. After having seven children to bring up i'm finding having a one-and-only quite an experience. I do not think I can plant it out in the garden to take its chances with the fox who likes to push past my tall by old chippy

got a few Red Admirals, Commas, Peacocks and Bumble Bees flitting around.....as well as a family of foxes who have after-hours parties in one of the greenhouses - I'm sure they have a lovely time but it can be very smelly in there the next day! Richard by Davidbrito

. Not perfect but helps. Pots help too - but slugs can climb. I have occasionally seen a hedgehog in our garden, but not for three or four years now.  How can one encourage them to hang around?  Don't want to leave out food, as we also have urban foxes by geoff fearn

was actually from the plant, i thought that cats/foxes were to blame by senting their territory, silly me,(lol) also i need help with the box just bought 2 topiary's in a pot cone shape, but one of them all down one side is changing colour from green to tan by Marinelilium

or foxes though, and will be making a hedgehog habitat in the near future.   I'm planting flowerbeds everywhere I possibly can, and search constantly for insect friendly species to encourage the wildlife.  My next project in the garden, after sorting my by weejenny

you through any worries. Just one word of caution about leaving the door open 24 hours if you are not there to look after things-you don't want a cat or fox in there causing mischief-rig up some sort of barrier -perhaps a piece of wood-I use an old by kjdintown
