this last winter which has been milder here in Somerset. My book says Ceanothus needs shelter from harsh winds and severe frosts so I think mine needs a new home. by Frenchk

FROST WARNING
Just a warning- the weather forecast for the next few days is that it is going to get noticeably colder, dry by day with frost in some areas. So if you live in a frost prone spot it might be worth protecting any tender plants, and delay planting any by sotongeoff

Planning for ground frosts
Hi all  With this changeable weather I often watch the TV weather forecasets to see what will happen to the temperatures over night. However, its actually quite rare for the bulletin to actually warn of ground frost.  Does anyone know of any by bcosergio

peas and frost
Hello I have grown some peas in pots as last year the wood pigeons got them. I would like to plant them out now but am worried about frost. Will frost damage peas?   No-well not at this time of year. Ok thank you. I was not sure as two years ago by buttercup4

Frosted tulips
There was a hard frost last night and now my tulips are drooping. Will they right themselves again or should I stake them? Just leave them alone, as they warm up they will standup again. Thanks MF, first Q&A on this board! They are halfway up now by toonia

frosted lilies
Back in March, when we had a few nice days, quite a few of my potted lilies decided to grow.  They got to between 4 - 7 inches in height, nice bushy leaves on top.   Then came the snow and very, very hard frosts with wind chill.  Most of the tops by Bookertoo

Talkback: Frost
novice vege gardener and I have 2 raised beds in my miniscule back garden in the South East. I have plenty of lettuce, rocket, white chard, spinach, mixed mustard leaves, and bulb fennel still going strong. They seem to have bounced back after the frosts by E-J

more so at the moment i am going to keep to that. Jane -- I'd like to be as gleeful about what the frosts are doing to pests as you are, but sadly I'm not! I came in an hour ago from the veg. plot with a good crop of caterpillars off my sprouts, [both by Gartenzwerg
