Should I be hand pollinating my fruit trees?
.  Each has borne a few fruit in the past but this is the first year when they have a good amount of blossom, so I'd hate to miss out on fruit.  Then again, the deer would probably eat the fruit anyway... It was hailing again today but tomorrow is meant by Laura Corin

Beautiful Fruit Cages that don't break the bank???
I have a large garden with a kind of potager/cottage garden feel and want to add a fruit cage that isn't a big ugly monster.  Has anyone come across such a thing that won't require me to remortgage my house and live in it? by Paula4

Why won't my Oullins Gage fruit?
I planted an Oullins Gage about three years ago.  It was a two year old bare root tree at the time.  It hasn't fruited since then and so far this Spring it has only produced a very small number of flowers. I have fed it each Spring with fish, blood by Squeaky73

Is it still ok to feed dried fruit to birds bearing in mind the young
I've been feeding dried fruit all through the winter but bearing in mind that they say not to feed whole peanuts I was wondering if it ok to keep feeding the dried fruit cos that is quite big as well.  I tried to chop them up in my food processor by Lavender Lady

Even more confused about fruit tree choice now...
backs onto a wood. We have removed evergreen trees so now there is dappled shade and an area which is reminiscent of a woodland glade which gets sufficient sun for a fruit tree to grow. We've been gradually planting the boundaries with a mixture by wisehedgecrone

High water table: dwarf fruit trees in raised beds?
between, in the hope of avoiding water-logging. Would it be ok to plant dwarf fruit trees in raised beds too? How deep/wide would they need to be minimum as they are going to need an awful lot of filling? Will I need drainage underneath on top by Whiteflowers
