Is it possible to use old potting compost for growing carrots and salad crops? Would it be o.k. to add fish blood and bone to it as a fertilizer?   I have heard that you are meant to throw it away as it has lost it's nutrients and may contain fungal by Alfierawes

New gardener rose question

Common garden mint
Sounds like powdery mildew. It is a fungal disease and mint is susceptible to it.  Pick off all infected leaves and improve conditions.Your growing conditions may need to be changed. Powdery mild often occurs when a plant dries out - can happen by lily-larkspur

Robinia Frisia - brown spotted leaves - treatment?
suspect this is a fungal infection  "Phloeospora robiniae". A good description is given on The Telegraph newspaper website on 04/09/2008, and of course on the RHS website. For a very good picture, type the disease name into Google and scan down to see by alexpeak
