Talkback: Garden photography
in the winter . Except for the birds I just lose interest. On the way to my daughters house today every garden was a picture, the frost on the trees and bushes gave a fairy tale look absolutly beautiful, made me smile on this freezing cold day and I had by Flora08

lesser spotted woodpeckers. we also have greenfinches,blue tits ,long tailed tits,and cole tits and a little wren ,and four robins Unfortunately the garden is sadly lacking in bird activity this weekend - they seem to boycott us during the RSPB Birdwatch by Lynne

-tits in our garden,over the harsh winter last year,i counted over 12 coming out of a bird-box on our house,it was so sweet,as i pulled up in my car i noticed them and just sat in my car counting and watching them...i also have a little wren [think thats what by Davidbrito

Greedy starlings
in Norwich I can stock up.  Thanks for that. Why is all bird food so expensive, they want people to feed the birds and encourage them into our gardens but the food costs so much money doesn't it.  I have made my own bird cake and that does save a little by Lavender Lady

Where are all the birds ?
I normally get birds in my garden but this autumn and winter I have had hardly any, just a few blackbirds and pigeons.  I have bird feeders out dotted around the garden but no visitors.  Where are they all ? Will the food be ok to leave out (it by Lavender Lady

Vistors had a party yesterday
is Seagulls! Same here, Ryan. Seagulls and magpies drive off smaller birds. Our dogs object to birds using the air space, which doesn't help, either. We've just had a Peregrine swoop down and take a woodpigeon from our garden  Literally just 10 minutes ago by scotkat

Bark mulch
mulch extensively in my garden every spring and the birds do indeed fling it about. Every now and then, I have to pick it off the lawn or a nearby plant. I think it depends on what type of birds are feeding in the area which is perhaps less frequent by DavesBonnyLass
