garden is about, and why they have one. Gary is perfectly right about having a garden which is wildlife friendly.  The more you encourage birds, insects, small mammals etc. the more you will benefit from healthy plants and a healthy environment by Cranesbill

Humming Bird Feeder
Does anyone use a humming bird feeder to help bumblebees? This year I want to grow flowers to help them (also to help with pollination) but not sure which flowers just yet, I was thinking of getting a humming bird feeder but can't seem to find where by Pauline01UK

Talkback: How wildlife friendly is your garden?
and vegetables so wildlife is not really welcome in my garden although with the winter coming up I can't help but feel for the birds. My quandary really is this, I want to feed the birds but will they come back in the summer because they're used to it? jgmc3 by Dilek

Strange plant
from some wild bird seed or wildflower mix of seeds?   I'm struggling to get some to germinate in my garden  I agree it's a teasel - a friend gave me one last year - a lovely plant, particularly the seed head which is liked by both flower arrangers by Bigpierre

Talkback: Of rats and tree rats
. Try a break in your artificial feeding. This will discourage the rats and at the same time you can see whether there is a real down turn in bird visitors to your garden. Alternatively just use small feeders that hang from strings... although by SuziQ
