think of the blackbirds Monty !
weeks later since Cuckoo bees don't continue the nest. (I would upload a picture of her, but file is too big) I also witnessed a bird of prey land in my middle garden and fly off like a shot at the sight of me, leaving only a few sparrow feathers behind by Terri Quincey

garden pond
Hi, I would like to putr a pond in my small back garden, using something like an old trug or washing bowl. how deep and wide would you suggest the receptacle, as I do not have much space, but want to encourage more wildlife? thanks Sorry by maureen o'Driscoll

Ladybirds
Ladybirds are still on the wing in my London garden. I've not taken down the runner beans, as they are covered in blackfly - food for the ladybirds and garden birds. Do you have ladybirds on the wing in your garden? Or have they moved into your by Kate Bradbury

low roof covered bird table, as they do with food I put on the ground for blackbirds etc. JAG - I don't think we're worrying too much. By feeding the birds we are attracting large numbers of them to our gardens - very small spaces compared to woodland by kater1

more bird friendly plants and leaving water out for them to drink and bathe in. Last summer I had less birds in the garden than when I was feeding but quite a number did come for the water and to feed off aphids and seed heads and hopefully will keep by oldchippy

Ladybirds

How can I get rid of wire worm?
I moved into my house a year ago and the garden has not been touched for over 25 years. I have cleared the weeds and ground of rubbish and started digging it all over. I planted all the veg I usually do and lost everything. I have wire worm by Sam Glendinning
